Seven Kings Gurdwara is located on the High Road between Seven Kings and Goodmayes Main line railway Stations. The building was originally used as a British Telecom Exchange and was converted into a Temple during 1990's. The building has 3 floors - The ground floor houses the Langar Hall, Kitchen, Offices, Washroom facilities, Shoe Rooms. The first and second floor have seperate Darbar Halls which can hold about 500 worshippers.
Barking Gurdwara was created in 1971 and is located on the corner of the Northern Relief Road/North Street in Barking, Essex. The Gurdwara offers a number of services daily and all community members are welcome. The range of community activities provided include Punjabi lessons, Library, Gym and fitness classes, Yoga for men and women, Gatka (martial art) and Kirtan music. The NHS and the local police hold regular sessions to provide health services and police advice surgeries.
The Gurdwara also welcomes school trips and provides formal marriages ceremonies and funeral services.
We have been asking Guru Granth Sahibs Ji's advice and for Guru Sahibs spiritual guidance through the tradition of taking a Hukumnama. Hukumnama literally means, 'royal decree'.
